We are not sure of Anakin’s initial origin, but he ended up at a facility in Amarillo, Texas when he was about three months old. They kept him there for about two months, but realized that they didn’t have the level of engagement he required so they asked us to take him. At the time, we had Kylo Ren and Kenobi and planned to introduce Anakin to the streak (group of tigers), which would provide Anakin the companionship and guidance he craved.

When Anakin arrived, he was a rowdy and rambunctious boy; a rebel, much like his eponym! It was clear to us that Anakin had difficulty trusting people and we had our work cut out for us. Anakin started trusting us quickly, allowing him to relax and acclimate with his surroundings and opening up his personality. While he has maintained his playful and rambunctious spirit, he is also an adventurous, warmhearted, lovely boy. After a careful introduction period and supervised overnights Anakin, Kylo Ren, and Kenobi were placed together in Outer Rim. The three are affectionately known as the “Jedi Boys.”

Anakin loves meat treats and is definitely the most food-motivated of the three Jedi Boys. Besides jumping head first into the pool, his favorite time of the day is at night during feeding. He is a must see at our feeding nights because of his enthusiasm and fervor. When he’s not conning volunteers/keepers into extra treats, he loves running from end to end on his large playground, jumping head first into the pool, and even placing his large blue barrels inside the tub in his den area. It is a joy to watch him run and play with his best friends and disrupt the ‘force.’
