Denali

Denali was found wandering in a wooded area with a collar around her neck.  She was taken to a domestic cat rescue in Keller, and was examined by their vet.  The owner of the rescue called us to ask if we could take her in, so we picked her up.  We were hoping she would be a rehab candidate, even though she had a collar on, but unfortunately she was very human imprinted and ran towards people purring.  She would seek out attention, making her not a good candidate for rehab. She had some sores around her neck from being infested with fleas and irritation from the collar, which was covered in burrs.  She was also a little thin. Our Dr. Emily examined her, did blood work and treated her for fleas. Tragically, several months later Denali was affected by a flu virus. Despite round-the-clock care in our on-site vet clinic, this little baby lost her fight with the virus.  We were all so devastated to lose this bright, funny little girl.
