Happy holidays to all our friends from In-Sync Exotics.
What a phenomenal year it’s been at In-Sync Exotics, and it’s all thanks to warriors like YOU! Your unwavering support has propelled us to extraordinary heights, including earning us recognition with the title of Dallas Morning News Best in DFW in a staggering 14 categories! Best Outdoor Adventure, Best Family Attraction, Best Summer Camp – we conquered them all, and it’s all because of YOUR devotion.
Our sanctuary is currently home to 74 majestic souls – lions, tigers, cougars, servals, and other exotic felines who have found refuge in the haven that YOU helped build. Together, we’ve witnessed incredible stories of survival and triumph. This year alone, we welcomed the regal cheetah Yoda, relocated by the Species Survival Plan program, and the enchanting serval Samara, rescued from the streets of South Texas.
And who can forget the triumphant journeys to Las Vegas, where we adopted two white lions and three leopards from the now-closed Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden, at The Mirage Hotel and Casino.
Yet, as we celebrate new beginnings, we must also acknowledge the somber farewells. Sanctuary life is a bittersweet symphony, and this year, we mourned the loss of our beloved white lioness, Sheila. Her journey from the brink of euthanasia before her arrival, to 14 years of joyous life is a testament to the power of resilience, YOUR support, and the relentless dedication of our staff.
Sheila’s story is just one example of the incredible transformations made possible by YOU. Diagnosed with toxoplasmosis, and a severe vitamin A deficiency that effects brain activity, she defied the odds, rising from weakness to strength, from despair to joy. YOUR generosity ensured her access to life-saving treatment, and she thrived under the watchful eyes of our dedicated team.
As we reflect on our 23rd year as a nonprofit, I reach out to you with gratitude for the past and a plea for the future. The 74 cats under our care did not choose captivity, but they have found solace at In-Sync Exotics, where they are with us for life. Your financial support is the lifeline that sustains them – covering medical needs, food, shelter, enrichment, and the devoted staff ensuring their well-being.
The cost of maintaining this sanctuary is immense – over $7,000 per month for utilities, $20,000 per month for food, and approximately $50,000 per month in salaries for our invaluable dedicated staff, including our full-time vet and veterinary assistant. The challenges are real, but with your support, we can overcome them. Your donations ensure that exotic cats like Sheila are given a chance to live out their best life in our care.
I am imploring our supporters like you, to dig deep once more. Please make an additional year-end, tax deductible donation to fortify our commitment to these beautiful animals. Let’s ensure another year of love, care, and protection for those who depend on us.
Thank you for being the driving force behind In-Sync Exotics – a sanctuary built on love, resilience, and the unwavering support of compassionate friends like you.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Vicky Keahey
