Otis came to live with us in June 2008 when his owners, who were illegally keeping him in their Dallas condo, found him to be increasingly difficult to manage. Because of poor bathroom habits and his tendency to hiss and snap, the owners eventually confined Otis to a 4′ x 6′ outdoor enclosure and then asked us if we could provide a home for him.
It has taken awhile for Otis to trust us, but we are working hard to gain his trust and to make him feel comfortable in his new home. His diet used to consist of chicken and canned food that is specially formulated for exotic cats, but we have switched him to red meat, chicken and large meaty bones which he especially loves.
Otis now shares a large enclosure with Moses and can now run, jump and do all things bobcats are meant to do. His favorite spot is up high in the playset where he can sit and watch everything that’s going on.
